03/30/2010 Updates

Well, my Cali trip was fun. Made me think about some things I was doing wrong with my life. But now, that's changed for me. Anyway, I'm doing some pictures for some people I owe them to before I start doing prices and trying my hand at the art game worldwide. Oh yeah, I got my best friend's drawings finally scanned and I'll be posting them in the next post. This is the only person I known personally that I'll say that draws better than me. It gives me some inspiration when he told me that he's becoming a fan of my artwork.

New Art - 03/08/2K10

Hello everyone! Man life has been great for me as of late. I'm loving life now. Got my business cards, in which I'll scan later. Got a commission job for a band. It was something simple, but I did put my effort into it though. So far, I got some artwork of a friend from dA (DeviantART), my main character for my solo comic, and the skull I drew to start of the month.

First off. This is Advent from my solo comic called the River City Dynamite. He's the leader of the team and he known by the Unstoppable Advent because he knows the Zero Style Martial Arts. This is the fighting pose for the Dragon Style, one of the two fighting styles that make up the Zero Style. More pics on him to come and his civilian identity of Will Landers.






This is Asiey Barbie from dA [link] whose also on Twitter too [link]. This was supposed to a Christmas, the turned New Year's present. She has already seen it, so I decided to post about three months last than I should have. Sad, I know.

New Art!

Hello everyone. I set this out to be published earlier than this, but I had an emergency and had to rush my mom to the hospital. She told me come home and relax because she didn't want me to worry. But she's doing fine now and will be staying the night possibly at St. Vincent's hospital.

Anyway, before all the craziness happened. I was on the phone with a friend of mine and she introduced me to her friend and it was kinda creepy how much we're alike and how we hit it off really easily. Is there something I'm missing here or is this a sign? Possible time for a vacation or relocation w/the help of Radio Shack of course. :P

So, on with the updates. I drew my good friend and muse, Heather "Izzy" Anderson, last night. I was suppose to draw something for her a few days ago, but it kinda was impossible because of the angle her picture was in. But never worry and hope shined through. She posted some new pics and I told her that I can draw one of the ones she put up much easier and faster than the other she requested. I'm done and she wanted it black and white, so I drew in a comic-art style that I've been working on. My pencil and ink shading sucks, but it came out good in the end.

I've also done a side-by-side. Now even though it's not perfect, it's close enough to her in my style as possible. Hope she likes it.

This is what happens when I'm bored

This pic here is what happens when it's 3 in the morning, can't sleep, and extremely bored. Things like this come out. This is me doing my best at smiling without it trying to make it look too evil or something. This was a random drawing anyway, so I was just having fun. Plus, it's time to have another display pic for some of the websites I visit. More randomness to come soon.

First Character designs

Hello everyone, the first character designs for the Mark of the Gods comic are up. The first is the main character, Long Sai-Yuk or Long for short. More drawings to come!

Finally got a title logo and symbols!

The Mark of the Gods comic finally has a logo. Took me a while to do it because I slightly created a font to go with it. But after a few hours of messing with it, finally got something I like.

On the flip side, I also inked in the Star Dragon symbol and to me, it looks kickass!

This is the title font for the comic. Well, work in process. Have to get final OK from Scott, but I think he might like it as much as I do.

Had to make it smaller, forgot I did this on 8 1/2" x 14" paper.

So much for updates for now. I'm doing doing the fighting sketch for a lovable main character, Chinese Star Dragon fighter, Long Sai Yuk.

Updates

Hello everyone, time for updates. Don't know how many are reading my blog right now, but if you are, thanks for looking and sorry for the lack of updates. My life has been busy of late. Right now, I'm full speed ahead on the Mark of the Gods comic. I'm designing the logo and title font for it now. I got the main characters, Team Star Dragon's logo done and will be posting it in the near future after I scan it in Photoshop.

I'm working on the other team logos as well and hope they come out good. But we'll see in the near future. Oh yeah, as of now, I have six more days until my b-day. 27 and counting. I feel like I haven't gotten anything done with my life, but now my mind is made up now.

So let's see how far my passion will take me. I'm NOT working at Radio Shack for the rest of life. I have a bigger part to play in this world. With the help of some friends for support and my stubborn/never-say-die attitude towards this goal, I got a feeling that I will make it.

Hello everyone, this is Rock Malcolm here with a new year update for you all.

First of all. All our projects are on course right now. We got 4 in the works between two people. Yikes. We got our collabo, The Mark of the Gods, on the main front for a pet project. The second is my own fantasy series, Bullet Kingdom, in the works. Still working on the character bible, which is going to take a while. My artist and co-founder of Black Armor XD, S. Vachon Bacon, got his Power UP! series and working on it seriously. Our fourth project is a little underground because it's for the adult crowd, called Hoez. With all these project going on, I'm also working on some side projects too to keep from burning out.

Well, that's the update for now.

Asiey Barbie pic lines

This is the pic that I've been working for about a few days now because of work making it hard for me to finish. This was originally supposed to be a Christmas gift, but now it might be looking like a New Year's gift. On that part, I'm sorry because I said that I was going to finish it by Christmas. 

But I'm almost done now. I got the colors selected and will be trying to finish coloring by at least New Year's Eve. After that, time to finish up Rishawndra's pic. I finally got a design that reflect her personality to me. Well, to her, she got the Superstar Lady, so I finally got something in mind to reflect that. Her drawing will be done within a week or two. 

Side note: I'm looking for apartments in San Diego area because that's I might be moving to for chance to break into the animation or comic biz. I know I have a long shot, but I'm going to do it and besides, I love a challenge.

New artwork

Sorry for the no posting as of late, been working too hard on a project for next year to get the ball rolling on plan to move to Cali and get my shit out there. Anyway, I'm taking a break from the project and doing random pics also continuing my "Real Women" series. this time I'm doing two pics at the same time. One was a present, albeit a late one. The other was a gift I've been promising for about 6 months now. 

The first one is a picture I've drawn, well the lineart anyway of my friend from dA and Facebook, Asia, in her Halloween Maid costume and one of her recurring messages of her doing a lot of cleaning. :) Kinda funny to me. But that will be posted in a short while. 

The second is of another friend and co-worker, Rishawndra, the Superstar Lady. Her picture I'm still debating on because I don't know where to go with her pic. Sexy? Classy? Both? Or a new direction? I'll see where my mind goes while drawing and go from there.

Finally done with it. Took 30 mins to draw and 4 hours to color. But I'm actually glad of this piece because I tried something new with my coloring. I also adding my sig now since I'm posting these online and I don't want no one to steal my work. I'm still getting used to coloring in Photoshop, but I'll get it soon enough.

Now that Angela is done, I got a certain "Superstar Lady" I lady I gotta draw now. I've been teeling her I was going to draw her for the longest time. Guess, I'll start either today after I get off or tomorrow.

But either way, I'm getting better with my drawing and coloring. I'm proud of this compared to the ugly sketch I did of this about two days ago.

Edit: I fixed the coloring. The one little space I missed the first time around, I finally got it and I'm re-posting it for your viewing pleasure.

This is the banner for my shop on gaiaonline.com and the center is me, cool as hell Rock Malcolm. The other two were my shop co-owners and artists. Believe it or not, I got a lot better during this time with my inking and photoshopping skills.
